How We Research

Every guide on bakhoor.co.in is based on research, not on product testing or paid placements. Here is exactly how we put a guide together, so you can judge how much to trust it.

1. We start with your questions

We look at what people actually ask about bakhoor: search data, community discussions and the questions readers send us. Each guide is planned around those questions, which is why most guides open with a quick answer and end with FAQs.

2. We go to reliable sources

We prefer, in this order:

  • Peer-reviewed studies and scientific reviews, for example on agarwood formation or indoor smoke.
  • Official and international records, such as CITES documents on the agarwood trade.
  • Cultural, historical and language sources for traditions and word meanings.
  • Explanations from makers and experienced users, used for practical how-to detail and always checked against other sources.

3. We cross-check and cite

Important facts, figures and health statements are checked against more than one source where possible, and we link to the sources we rely on inside the guide. Where the evidence is limited or mixed, we say so.

4. What we don’t do

  • We don’t claim to have tested products we haven’t tested.
  • We don’t rate or rank brands, and we don’t accept payment or free products in exchange for coverage.
  • We don’t give medical advice. Health sections summarise published research; if you have a breathing condition, ask a doctor.

5. We keep guides up to date

We review our guides regularly and update them when new research appears or a reader points out an error. See our editorial policy for how we handle corrections.
