About Us

Bakhoor.co.in is an independent guide to bakhoor, oud and the scented home. We explain what bakhoor is, how to burn it well, what goes into it and where the tradition comes from, in plain English and without the sales pitch.

Why this site exists

Bakhoor is loved across India, the Gulf and beyond, yet most of what you find online is written to sell a product. Basic questions, such as what bakhoor is made of, how much to use or whether the smoke is safe indoors, are hard to answer without wading through shop pages. We started bakhoor.co.in to give clear, honest answers in one place.

What makes us independent

  • No products, no shop. We don’t sell bakhoor or burners, and we don’t recommend specific brands.
  • No affiliate links or sponsored posts. Nobody pays us to write about them.
  • Research first. Our guides are built from published studies, trade and conservation records, cultural sources and expert explanations, and we link to our sources so you can check them.

Who writes our guides

Our guides are written and reviewed by the Bakhoor.co.in editorial team, a small independent team in India. Read how we research and our editorial policy to see how each guide is put together and kept up to date.
